PDF upload limits and error messages
Actualizado el 22 jul 2026
PDFs can be up to 100 pages and 50 MB. Checks run after upload, so an error can appear a moment later.
What each error means
- File too large: over 50 MB. Compress the PDF or split it into parts.
- Too many pages: over 100 pages. Split the document and process it in parts.
- Corrupt or unsupported file: the file does not open as a valid PDF. Re-export it from the source application.
- Cannot open the file: usually password protection. Remove the password, save, and upload again.
- Detection failed: a processing error on our side. Retry once; if it persists, contact support with the file name.
- Export failed: the redaction render did not finish. Retry the export; contact support if it keeps failing.
Scanned document notice
A scan notice is not an error; it means OCR ran. See the scanned PDFs article for details.
