Redaction removes text, not just covers it

The critical difference between PDF Studio and drawing black boxes in an editor: masked text is deleted from the file itself.

Why covering is not enough

A black rectangle drawn over text in a normal editor hides it visually, but the text is still in the file. Anyone can select, copy, or search the document and read what was underneath. Real redaction removes the text layer.

What BlurMe does

  • Text findings masked with a box are physically removed from the exported PDF. Copying or searching the export finds nothing.
  • Box color is your choice: black, white, or gray. White boxes make redacted areas blend into the page.
  • Faces and plates inside embedded photos are rendered with blur or mosaic, burned into the image.

Verifying an export

Open the exported PDF and try selecting or searching for a redacted string. It should be absent. This is a quick check worth doing before distributing a sensitive document.
