Apply Blur to a Specific Time Range

Hide the workbench plan from 2 to 6 seconds while leaving it visible outside that range. Adjust the rectangle’s active interval, then check its boundaries and full playback.

Before you start
This demonstration uses 0:00–0:08 of the Pexels video by Yan Krukau. Open the original video on Pexels, obtain it from the provider and prepare that 8-second excerpt, or use your own short clip for practice.
time-range-workbench.mp4 is the demonstration clip’s filename. The provider’s full video is longer; timestamps in this guide begin at 0 seconds in the prepared excerpt.

1. Locate the plan and time range
Open the sample, turn Auto Blur off, and locate the plan in the eight-second clip. Use 2–6 seconds as the interval. The video keeps its full length while you set when the rectangle’s blur is active.
2. Draw a stationary rectangle over the plan
Draw a Rectangle under Manual Blur around the entire plan and choose Blur in the individual target editor on the right. Leave enough margin to contain the plan throughout 2–6 seconds. Hands that enter the rectangle are blurred too, so check that it covers only the area you need.
3. Set the area’s active range to 2–6 seconds
Select the rectangle over the plan to display its purple active-range bar below the timeline. Drag the white handle at the left edge to 2 seconds and the right handle to 6 seconds. Confirm that the purple bar covers 2–6 seconds.
4. Check Blur inside the interval
Move the playhead to 4 seconds and confirm that the video frame changes. Check that the entire plan is inside the rectangle and Blur is active.
5. Check outside the interval and at its boundaries
Check that the plan is not blurred at 1 and 7 seconds. Then inspect the frame before, at, and after each boundary.
In this 25 fps sample, the plan is clear at 1.96 seconds, blurred at 2.00 and 6.00 seconds, and clear at 6.04 seconds. Adjacent frame times differ at other frame rates, so check the boundaries in your own video.
6. Review timing during full playback
Play all eight seconds and check that the plan is hidden only from 2 to 6 seconds. Enlarge or correct the rectangle if the plan moves outside it, then recheck both boundaries.
7. Export a video file if needed
This demonstration covers the workflow through full playback in the editor. If you need a result file, complete the following saving steps separately.
After reviewing full playback in the editor, open Export at the top. Enter a file name and choose MP4, 720p, and Standard quality. If you need another resolution, select an option available to you in the dialog.
Review any displayed credits or plan conditions and start the export. Wait for a completed status. If an error appears, resolve the stated issue before retrying.
8. Download and check the saved file
When processing completes, use Download for that project. After the browser receives the file, open the saved MP4 in a separate player.
Replay the saved video from beginning to end, checking coverage at 1, 4, and 7 seconds and on both sides of the 2- and 6-second boundaries. The editor preview does not replace this check. After another edit, export again and inspect the newly downloaded file.
