Hide an Object in a Video with Magic Blur
Mis à jour le 9 sept. 2026
Select an object’s outline with Magic Blur and track the required video interval. This example selects the black-and-red radio on the right and checks coverage as it is lifted.
Follow the video walkthrough
Watch the editing workflow and result playback in Studio. The interface is in Korean, with English subtitles included.
Before you start
The dedicated real-motion sample lasts about 10 seconds (9.98 seconds). Hide the handheld radio on the right while keeping the gray device on the left and the hands outside the selection. It is a radio, not a smartphone; part of its antenna moves beyond the top edge.
Sample footage: chatnowonebay, “ChatNow demonstration” · Wikimedia Commons · Creator’s original · CC BY 3.0. Excerpted from 115–125 seconds, muted and transcoded to MP4. Original dimensions and playback speed are preserved.
1. Locate the object at the first frame
Open the sample in Studio, turn Auto Blur off, and move the playhead to 0 seconds. Locate the right-hand radio’s body and antenna. Create the selection at this frame before tracking the video interval.
2. Add the body if only the buttons are selected
Choose Add in Magic Blur and click inside the radio on the right. In this example, the first click selects only the orange button area. Within the same selection, click inside the black housing to extend the outline to the body and antenna.
Inspect the top, bottom, sides, and visible antenna. Use Remove if a hand or the left device joins the selection; use Add for missing parts. Check the outline, then choose Done. The selection overlay alone does not mean the other frames have been tracked.
3. Review the full tracking range and cost
Select the new Magic target in the target list. Check that the Magic Blur tracking range covers about 10 seconds, from the start through the last frame. From the first frame, select the required later interval.
Choose Start tracking and read the interval, frame count, and maximum credit use in the confirmation dialog. This example shows 299 later frames and a maximum of 3 credits. Review the values on your own screen, then confirm with Start tracking.
4. Check the completed range and individual Blur
Wait for calculation and result saving to finish, then check the Current range tracked notice. Inspect the actual active interval as well; the notice does not establish that every outline is accurate.
In the individual target editor on the right, check that the radio’s Target effect is Blur. Adjust intensity in Fine-tune if needed. Confirm the selected target so the effect is not assigned to the other device or background.
5. Review the middle, end, and full movement
Move to about 5 seconds and the final frame. Inspect the radio’s body, edges, and parts hidden by fingers. Where the antenna leaves the frame, check the portion that remains visible.
Return to the start and replay the whole clip, about 10 seconds. Check for exposed parts of the body or a hand or background joining the selection. A tracking completion count does not establish masking quality.
To change a completed Magic outline, locate only the right-hand radio’s Magic target in the list and use its trash-shaped Delete target button. Check the target count and the notice that its Magic masks and tracking results will also be deleted before confirming. Do not use a full reset when you want to preserve other targets and edit settings.
On a paused frame where the radio is clear, make a new Magic Blur selection with Add and Remove, then choose Done. Add and Remove do not reopen a completed target’s outline. Track the required interval again, including the earlier portion if you selected from a middle frame. Set the individual effect to Blur and review full playback.
6. Export a video file if needed
This demonstration covers the workflow through full playback in the editor. If you need an output file, follow the separate saving steps below.
After reviewing full playback, open Export at the top. Enter a file name and choose MP4, 720p, and Standard quality (general use). For another resolution, choose an available option in the dialog.
Review any displayed credits or plan conditions, then start the export. After it completes, use Download for the project to receive the file. Resolve any stated error before retrying.
7. Check the downloaded file
Open the saved MP4 in a separate player and replay it from beginning to end, checking coverage of the body and antenna, finger occlusions, and both tracking boundaries. Check the saved file separately from editor playback; after further edits, export again and inspect the newly downloaded file.
