Fix Incorrectly Linked or Broken Person Tracks in a Video

อัปเดตเมื่อ 9 ก.ย. 2569

When one person’s automatic face detections are split across two targets with different effects, compare the person before merging the targets. This example joins Human face 2 to Human face 1, which is set to Original.

Before you start

Download the 8-second practice clip and open it in Studio. Follow the person in a burgundy T-shirt, beige shorts and a white bag moving from right to left. Start with Auto Blur’s Human face category enabled and the intended face’s individual effect set to Original.

Sample credit: Shibuya Crossing, Tokyo, Japan (video) · Basile Morin · CC BY-SA 4.0. The sample excerpts seconds 32–40, removes audio and transcodes to H.264, preserving the original dimensions and playback speed. The sample and its adaptations are subject to CC BY-SA 4.0.

The source cuts to a wide view of the crossing at about 4.2 seconds. Do not assume a person after that cut is the same person. Manual rectangles and Magic outlines use separate tracking workflows.

1. Check that both targets show the same person

Move the playhead to about 1 and 2 seconds. Compare the face, clothing, bag and direction of movement. In this example Human face 1 uses Original, while Human face 2 covers a later appearance of the same person and uses Blur.

Outside range in the target list means the selected target has no detected region at that moment. Compare the actual person and detected intervals rather than relying on the target name alone.

2. Select both targets and check the merge settings

Select both target checkboxes in the right-hand list. The timeline shows both sets of segments and the Merge with another target button.

If their effects differ, check the notice beside the merge button to see which target’s state and effect will be used. Here the notice specifies Human face 1, which is set to Original.

3. Merge the confirmed appearances

After confirming that the targets belong to the same person, choose Merge with another target. Check that the list contains one target and that the joined segments use the intended individual effect.

Here the detected intervals at approximately 0.2–0.7, 0.8–1.2, 1.8–2.0 and 2.6–2.8 seconds are grouped under Human face 1 with Original. Merging does not create new detected regions in the remaining gaps.

If an overlap is reported, compare the actual people in that interval before choosing which segment to retain. No overlap-selection step appeared in this sample’s merge.

4. Check remaining gaps and scene changes

Inspect 3 and 4 seconds too. The same clothing and bag are visible, but this example has no detected region for the selected target at those moments and no additional face fragment was found to merge.

Move to a frame with a clearer face and check again. If a required area remains undetected, use manual region tracking or Magic Blur tracking for a separate correction. Do not join targets across scene changes without confirming the person.

5. If a different person was wrongly linked, split and re-blur

This is a separate procedure for a wrong link that leaves another person unblurred. The example recording does not perform a split or re-blur a wrongly linked person.

Select one target, move the playhead to the boundary of the incorrect section, and use Split here. If the button is disabled, check that the playhead is between the selected target’s start and end. Splitting alone keeps both resulting sections.

Click the face in the wrong section to hide that part again, or hover over its timeline piece and use the card’s delete icon, Re-blur this piece. Inspect both sides of the boundary so that the correct appearances remain clear. Use Undo if the change is wrong.

6. Review the clip from beginning to end

Clear the selection and move the playhead to 0 seconds. Check that the actual picture, as well as the timer, has returned to the opening frame, then play all 8 seconds.

Check Original across the confirmed appearances and make sure another person has not been kept by mistake. Inspect the remaining gaps and the scene cut at about 4.2 seconds separately. This merge does not establish continuous tracking of the same person throughout the whole clip.

Optional: Save the edited video

If you need a file, open Export at the top, enter a name, and select MP4, 720p and Standard. Choose another available resolution if needed. Review the displayed conditions and start the export.

After processing completes, use the project’s Download option and replay the received file from beginning to end in a separate player. If export or download has not finished, editor playback does not verify the saved file. This tutorial recording ends with review in the editor.
